We Love Informed Women.

You probably have hundreds of hair salon questions… I know how nerve wreaking it can be trying to find your new hairdresser. So, I thought I would curate a list of the most common questions I get asked often from newbies.

Frequently Asked questions

01. Are you cruelty free?

YES!!! I care very deeply about our planet's cute animals and have chosen products that specifically DO NOT test on animals.

I also care about being kind to our fellow humans JUST as much, and choose to support brands that are sourced ethically and where ALL the people involved benefit from my business.

Caring about our planet is something that should be important to us all, so, I endevour to continue trying to find ways of decreasing my salon's environmental footprint to hopefully be down to a 0% footprint one day.

Have some ideas on how to decrease a hair salon's impact?

PLEASE... Let's talk!

02. What products do you use?

I use Pravana colours. Olaplex. Great Lengths Extentions. EVO and Unite haircare and styling products.

03. Where is the salon?

The salon is located at 67 Gerald Rd, Illawong, right opposite Tharawal Primary School.

04. What are your opening times?

I am open by appointment, which means late nights if YOU need it The only day that I am closed is Sundays.

05. Is there parking available near the salon?

There is ample free street parking right in front of the salon, and also a driveway that you can park in if it is a daytime appointment.

06. Do you offer free hair advice?

I think it's important that we get to know each other to see if we are a good fit and to give you some valuable professional advice before making your decision to book with me. The consultation is completely complimentary and also completely obligation free.

07. I'm not sure if my hair is short, medium, long or extra long?

The rule of thumb is:
- not touching the shoulders = short
- Touching the shoulders to top of the armpit = medium
- Armpit to bra strap = long
- Anything longer than that is extra long

8. Should I wash my hair before coming to the salon?

Not much really freaks me out when it comes to hair haha! The only thing that does is NITS... Respectfully, if you have nits or SUSPECT nits, PLEASE postpone your appointment until you have treated that condition. If you are intending to have a scalp lightening service done, I would recommend NOT washing your hair prior to your appointment, as the extra oils can help shield your scalp from becoming irritated. If you have used a spray to cover greys, it would be highly recommended to wash it out before coming to the salon as sometimes it can affect coverage of your permanent tint.

09. Do you take card payments?

The answer is Yes! I use the Square Reader system which takes most cards including Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

10. Why do I have to pay a deposit?

I ask that a deposit is made for extention appointments as the extentions are customised and bespokely arranged specifically for you and your needs. This helps ensure that I am not left with expensive hair strands that can't be used by somebody else, and my time isn’t unfairly taken up by people who are unlikely to turn up for the appointment.
Deposits are fully refundable and transferable when you give me 3 working days notice to move or cancel your appointment. Can I arrange for you to come out to me for my appointment?
For installation of hair extentions, I am happy to come to your home! fees are as follows (plus any tolls or parking)
5km's from Illawong: $
10km's from Illawong: $
15km's from Illawong: $
20km's from Illawong: $

11. Do you have a cancellation policy?

I request a minimum of 24 hrs notice for a cancellation, but, so long as you don't let me know 5 minutes before your appointment that you have to cancel, we are golden

12. What happens if I'm late for an appointment?

I ask that you arrive promptly for your appointment, and I will notify you if I am running behind also. Should you arrive late, I will do my best to keep your arranged appointments, however I may have to shorten or change the appointment to ensure my other guests for the day aren’t affected.

13. What happens if I can't manage my new haircut or don't totally love my colour?r the salon?

I don't want you to just think your hair is 'ok'... I want you to be SO TOTALLY IN LOVE with it! So, if you aren't 150% happy with your hair, I will get you back in within 1 week of your appointment and will do everything within my power to rectify the situation, complimentary of course. I can also provide a short video with yourself on how to style your hair at home so you can manage it even without me

14. What sanitation precautions are in place to prevent spread of COVID19?

I am being INSANELY careful of this wretched virus as I personally have EXTREMELY severe asthma, and live with vulnerable people.
And so, I undergo a DEEP CLEAN (wipe every surface with hospital grade disinfectant, one cape per person, disinfect all tools after each client) after EVERY single client.
Only have ONE client at a time
Request each client (as well as myself) to use the provided sanitizer upon entry
You will be asked a series of questions related to your health/ places you have been recently (I am dubbing them: "THE CORONA QUESTIONS" haha!) upon entry, and request that if you are feeling unwell to please rebook your appointment for another time.
Can provide masks for both client and myself on request
We are all in this together.

Here, you are NOT a sheep-le.

We also believe that beauty is ageless and should absolutely NEVER be defined by a number or a stereotype! You know all those listicles that tell you what you can't wear anymore once you're 30?

Well, chuck them out the window, we don't believe in that here. You're a mum or a fellow boss lady, so you're short on time and a bit lazy? That's ok too, doesn't mean you can't still look fabulous with effortless style! We will show you how.
